The Outlet for the Arts was formed on a concept that artist, musicians and technical crew all need a creative "Outlet" to network, fine tune and showcase their talent.
As the industry is rapidly changing, The Outlet for the Arts is helping artists, to produce fresh content and grow their audience while achieving their individual goals.
The Building was originally built as a Church in 1886. Over the years, the various owners have used the space for various types of gatherings and musical performances. In the Spring of 2020, Chaz DeVito, a local engineer and producer from Connecticut purchased the building and reopened it with a new concept. The Outlet for the Arts was born!
Chaz started guitar lessons at the age of 10 at the local music shop in his home town of Windsor, Connecticut. As a freshman at Windsor High School, he joined the percussion section of the marching and concert band under the direction of Doug Maher, and later joined the symphonic band as a percussionist. He was also enrolled in the Recording Techniques program led by Mick Duffek for 4 years. The music education programs and directors during that time were responsible for many graduates moving on to successful careers in the music and entertainment industry.
He moved to New York City in September 2005 to attend SAE Institute, one of the world's leading educators in creative media. The program was directed by recording engineer and producer John Jansen, and led by a team of Grammy Award winning instructors.
He graduated SAE in 2007 while interning for Daddy's House Recording Studios in Midtown.
In 2006, Chaz was hired as an intern and worked as an assistant engineer for Daddy's House Recording Studios, a Division of Badboy Entertainment. Daddy's House, formerly operated under the name "The Record Plant," was the first studio to give recording artists a comfortable, casual environment rather than the clinical setting that was normal practice through the 1960s."
Projects included Diddy "Press Play," MTV's Making of the Band with Danity Kane. These experiences lead him to learn from producers and writers such as Mario Winans, Scram Jones, Sean C & LV, Deric "D-Dot" Angelettie (The Madd Rapper/Madd Producer, Jack Night and Angela Hunte.
In 2007, he interned and assisted recording/mixing sessions at Platinum Sound Recording Studios, a private studio owned by Wyclef Jean and Jerry Wonda. The two main projects worked on during that time were Wyclef Jean "The Carnival vol. 2, Memoirs of an Immigrant" and Estelle "Shine." Various project included singles for LL Cool J & Method Man, Movado, Bow Wow & Omarion and Ray J.
In 2008, Dubway Studios NYC hired him as a general assistant engineer. Projects worked on include scores for Nick Jr's "Backyardagains" and "Bubble Gubbpes", HBO/Showtime live recording of Raphael Sadiiq, iTunes Live from SoHo featuring The Fray, Raheem DeVaughn and Maroon 5. Various sessions include Paul Shaffer, Scott Alan, Mos Def and a score for the indie horror film titled "The House of The Devil" filmed in Torrington, CT.
In 2009, Chaz was hired by MGM Grand at Foxwoods Casino to work as a live sound engineer in the venues at the resort. He ran Front of House/monitors in the Grand Theater, Fox Theater, and assisted international touring acts until 2019. Events include: Stevie Wonder, Mary J. Blige, John Legend, B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Marc Anthony, Sister Sledge, Al Pacino, Pat Benatar, Joy Behar, Bob Newhart, Hall and Oats, B52's, Ozuna, Nicky Jam, Barry Manilow, Boston, Alicia Keys, Kelly Clarkson, Nas, Ma$e, The Lox, Mario Winans, The Fray, Ke$ha and the Creepies, Trey Songz, Ja Rule, Ashanti, Cardi B, Peter Frampton, Alice Cooper, Hans Zimmer, Debbie Gibson, Alessia Cara, Steve Miller, Cheap Trick, ZZ Top, Maroon 5, R. Kelly, Snoop Dogg, Toby Keith, Carrie Underwood, Adam Lambert, Steve Vai, The Experience Hendrix Tour, Legends in Concert, The Price is Right, Artie Lange, Jim Breuer, Fluffy and Sarah Silverman.
In 2013, he was hired by Mohegan Sun Casino to work in the Mohegan Sun Arena which was voted Live Nations 2013 "Arena of The Year". Events include: Paramore, Prince, Esperanza Spalding, Nine Inch Nails, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Lord of the Dance, Frankie Vali, Marc Anthony, Keith Urban, Katy Perry, Bon Jovi, Maroon 5, Michael Bublé, Luke Bryan and Brad Paisley.
In 2010, he began working at the Warner Theatre in Torrington, CT to mix monitors and Front of House for their concert performances and comedy shows. Acts include: Lisa Lampanelli, Bill Cosby, Cheech and Chong, Ralph Stanley, Dave Mason, Jefferson Starship and The McLovins. Doo-Wop concerts include: The Legendary Teenagers, The Drifters, Kenny Vance and the Planotones, Shirley Alston Reeves of the Shirrelles, The Harptones and The Capris.
In 2016, Chaz began working for the Katherine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center in Old Saybrook, CT to run Front of House and mix monitors. Acts include: Judy Collins, Donny Most, Darlene Love, Plywood Cowboy, Abbie Gardner, Jesse Terry, Mary Fahl, Brian Hoffman, Tim Shelton and Caroline Rose
During October from 2011-2013, he ran Front of House for the main stage at the Fall Down Festival, a Halloween themed music and camping festival at Camp Farnam in Durham, CT. Acts include: Dopapod, Alan Evans Trio, Superhuman Happiness, Turkuaz, Soule Monde, Voodelic, Vorzca, Shakedown, Straddledaddy, Skyfoot, Kendra Morris, Gatsby, Marco Benevento and Royal Hammer.
In 2013, he was hired by Ridgefield Playhouse in Ridgefield to mix monitors for The Wailers led by Aston "Family Man" Barrett, Taylor Hicks and The DIckey Betts Band.
